This special event links the Institute for Data Science and Computing (IDSC), the University’s new Department of Writing Studies, and the UM Ethics Programs on a panel to address challenges related to the explosive interest in—and use of—Artificial Intelligence programs that generate text and computer code. Climate Resilience Academy

Students Float Ideas to Help the Campus Adapt to…

As part of the first undergraduate climate resilience course, 36 students got a chance to learn about the pressing issue from 13 different faculty experts and offer their own suggestions. Parking lots covered with solar panels that would also collect rainwater. More rooftop gardens across the Coral Gables Campus. Join us for another “Data Citizens: A Distinguished Lecture Series” talk featuring Dr. Zahi A. Fayad, the Lucy G. Moses Professor of Medical Imaging and Bioengineering at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He is also a Professor of Radiology (Vice-Chair for Research) and a Professor of Medicine (Cardiology). Dr. Fayad is the founding Director of the BioMedical Engineering and Imaging Institute (ranked 15th in 2021 NIH funding in the field of Radiology).
