SUMMARY:2-Day Software Carpentry-Python Workshop 10/27-28 at Rosenstiel Campus
DESCRIPTION:Software Carpentry aims to help researchers get their work done in less time and with less pain by teaching them basic research computing skills. This in-person only\, hands-on\, two-day Python workshop will cover basic concepts and tools\, including program design\, version control\, data management\, and task automation\, as well as a segment on Data Ethics.  \nParticipants will be encouraged to help one another and to apply what they have learned to their own research problems. \nSyllabus with Instructions | Register Now (free)\nFor more information on what we teach and why\, please see our paper “Best Practices for Scientific Computing”. \nWho The course is aimed at graduate students and other researchers. You don’t need to have any previous knowledge of the tools that will be presented at the workshop. \nWhere The Map Room\, Science Laboratory and Administration Building (SLAB)\, Rosenstiel School of Marine\, Atmospheric\, and Earth Science Library\, 4600 Rickenbacker Causeway\, Miami\, FL 33149.
