The series will contain books from all subfields of visualization, including visual analytics, information visualization, and scientific visualization, and will largely follow the calls of the major conferences such as VIS: techniques, algorithms, theoretical foundations and models, quantitative and qualitative evaluation, design studies, and applications.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-623 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/idsc.miami.edu\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Tamara-Munzner-circle.png\" alt=\"Tamara Munzner\" width=\"234\" height=\"234\" srcset=\"https:\/\/idsc.miami.edu\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Tamara-Munzner-circle.png 234w, https:\/\/idsc.miami.edu\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Tamara-Munzner-circle-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/idsc.miami.edu\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Tamara-Munzner-circle-60x60.png 60w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 234px) 100vw, 234px\" \/>IDSC Director of <strong>Visualization, Data Communication,<\/strong> <strong>and Information Design<\/strong><strong>,<\/strong> Dr. <strong>Alberto Cairo<\/strong> will serve as Joint Series Editor with<strong> Tamara Munzner <\/strong>of the <strong>University of British Colombia<\/strong>, Vancouver, Canada.<\/p>\n<p>The series, so far, has 6 titles:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-36922 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/idsc.miami.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/AK-Peters-Visualization-Series-Books.jpg\" alt=\"AK Peters Visualization Series book covers\" width=\"883\" height=\"909\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Named to honor <strong>A K Peters, Ltd.<\/strong>\u00a0founders <strong>Alice and Klaus Peters,<\/strong> the firm A K Peters published scientific and technical books, specializing in mathematics and in computer graphics, robotics, and other fields of computer science. Founded in November 1992 and maintained as a privately held corporation by the Peters until 2010, it was then acquired by CRC Press under the <strong>Taylor &amp; Francis Group<\/strong> umbrella, one of the world&#8217;s leading publishers. <strong>CRC Press<\/strong> is a premier global publisher of science, technology, and medical resources.<\/p>\n<p><strong>AK Peters, Ltd.<\/strong>, also published the journals <strong>Experimental Mathematics<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0<strong>Journal of Graphics Tools<\/strong>, as well as mathematics books geared to children, and combinatorial game theory books.
