IDSC is pleased to welcome two new Software Engineers:\u00a0 Damian Franco<\/strong>\u00a0and Manouj Govindaraju<\/strong>\u00a0working with the Software<\/strong> Engineering<\/strong> group. and a Research Intern, Matthew Rossi<\/strong>, working with Dr. Amin Sarafraz in AI and Machine Learning<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"DamianDamian Franco<\/h3>\n

Damian Franco is a Senior Software Engineer with many years of experience developing Web Applications in many different languages and technologies. Damian started his career at the Miami Herald, gaining extensive experience and skills in software, database, and web development. After a successful 20-year career helping the newspaper industry, he transitioned to a more challenging and dynamic opportunity at\u00a0Magic Leap, where he was learning and growing his skills in the field of 3D Web Development. For a little more than a year, Damian has been developing web apps for\u00a0Wels System Foundation, the nation\u2019s most widely used comprehensive data system for quality rating improvement of Child Care.<\/p>\n

Damian is originally from Havana, Cuba, and lives in Miami, Florida. He received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from\u00a0Florida International University. Damian is self-motivated, and he is constantly experimenting with new technologies. He loves being a Dad. He practices yoga and meditation.<\/p>\n

\"Manouj-KumarManouj-Kumar Govindaraju<\/h3>\n

Manouj is an interactive applications developer with 3 years of experience in engineering games, Virtual, Augmented. and Mixed Reality experiences. and 4+ years of experience in Web, UI\/UX development. He is a highly creative and motivated problem solver and a dependable team player. While primarily a Unity C# programmer, proficient in a wide array of skills including UI\/UX, 3D Modeling, UX research, design, prototyping, and hardware integration skills. Manouj was part of the team that created “The U Experience” Magic Leap campus tour.<\/p>\n

\"MatthewMatthew Rossi<\/h3>\n

Matthew is an undergraduate from Northeast Ohio with majors in Mathematics and Computer Science (Class of 2023 | Foote Fellow). He intends to pursue an MS in Data Science and hopes to apply the skills he learns to a career as a data scientist in politics, healthcare, or finance. On campus, Matthew runs an undergraduate political magazine, sits on the executive board of the Data Analytics Student Association, serves as Treasurer of the Racquetball Club, and works as a Student Financial Intern for the Department of Student Activities and Student Organizations. As a research intern in the IDSC AI and Machine Learning program, Matthew will be working with Dr. Amin Sarafraz, Research Associate Professor, Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering.<\/p>\n

In his free time, Matthew likes to read, play piano, and go rock climbing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
