	Computing Day | April 17, 2026 Computing Day 2026 showcased the vast array of interdisciplinary research and scholarship in computing at The U. 	Smart Cities MIAMI Conference | March 26, 2026 City Smarts: From flying cars and high-tech sensors to AI platforms and quantum computing, Smart Cities MIAMI 2026 explored the future of urban development. Hundreds of attendees learned from industry experts, scientists, and researchers about how such burgeoning technology can be used to improve our cities. Read More
	Miami XR Conference  | February 12-13, 2026 With educators and experts from around the country in attendance, Miami XR 2026 explored the different ways extended reality (XR) is making an impact. On Day One, Walt Disney Imagineering executives Bruce Vaughn and Kyle Laughlin discussed how they got into the immersive storytelling field. University students not only collaborated with faculty members to develop and create the apps that were demoed on Day Two (Watch Now: Day 2 Playlist), they played a pivotal role in helping to organize the conference. Keynote speakers, panel discussions, and demos from multiple schools and industry highlighted the many applications of XR research. Read More
	VizUM Symposium  | November 10, 2025 VizUM 2025: Critical Cartography deconstructed and reconstructed the maps we encounter in our daily lives to seek ways to understand geospatial visualizations as sophisticated storytelling devices that speak to the human experience. The sessions were not recorded but Prof. Krygier’s giveaway booklet “Ce N’est Pas Le Monde” with co-author Denis Wood is available online. Read More
