IDSC is pleased to introduce two new team members: Antonio “Tony” Gonzalez, Data Engineer 2 for IDSC Systems + Data Engineering, and, Bryson Rudolph, XR Software Engineer, for the IDSC Human-Centered Design + Computing, Creative Technologies team.
Tony Gonzalez
Antonio “Tony” Gonzalez has worked for the University of Miami for over 30 years. He started his technical career with the Department of Pediatrics as a Software Specialist in 1996. He moved to the Department of Psychology in the role as a senior Database Analyst where he provided databases and analytical support for the UM Center for Autism & Related Disabilities, FDLRS (Florida Diagnostic & Learning Resources System), and Linda Ray Intervention Center.
Tony is fluent in multiple platforms and database technologies, and he specializes in data integration by discovering new and existing data processing methods. Tony’s interests include GIS Analysis, Data Integration and Visualization, Cloud Ecosystems, and the Power Platform.
Tony graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor in Business Administration Computer Information Systems. He received his Master’s degree in Management Information Systems in 2006.
Bryson Rudolph
Bryson Rudolph is an extended reality developer passionate about gamified education, foreign languages and culture, and humanitarian work. He joined the University of Miami Institute for Data Science and Computing in 2022.
Bryson received his BS and MS in Computer Science (‘20, ‘21) and BA in Spanish (‘20) from Clemson University. While at Clemson, he was a proud member of the University’s Virtual Environments Group. He helped develop a multi-platform VR simulation designed to teach geology students how to conduct field work in the Grand Canyon. Bryson also carried out empirical research and investigated the effects of head-mounted display fidelity on spatial updating and content learning.
Shortly after receiving his Master’s, Bryson joined the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps as a full-time volunteer for ten months. He was deployed across the country with his team to construct affordable homes, clean up state parks and camps, and provide disaster recovery from Hurricane Ida (August-September 2021).
