Free Open Workshops 3/28-4/22 + Pilot Virtual Datathon for…
The South Big Data Hub is collaborating with HerWILL on the first Datathon for Women of Color. The event will take place from April 23 – 25, and will be preceded by eight workshops (running March 28 to April 22) focused on data science training. Registration is open for the workshops and the datathon.
The registration for the Datathon will go on until the 20th of April. The four-week long optional workshops will begin 3/28. All events will be conducted virtually. This is a great opportunity for women of color, age 16+ with very little exposure to data science.

Pre-Datathon Instructional Workshops | March 28-April 22
In preparation for the “First Ever Datathon for Women of Color,” the South Big Data Hub and HerWILL will organize 8 Data Science Basic workshops on Machine Learning, Databases, Data Scrubbing, and Data Science Opportunities with some of the top industry leaders in innovation, business, and technology from local, national, and international arenas. Pilot Virtual Datathon for Women of Color | April 23-25
The First Ever Datathon for Women of Color is a competition. This Datathon focuses not only on Data Science, but also on teamwork and presentation. Only teams consisting of 3-5 members can participate. All computer science (or related) students are welcome to attend the workshops, men, women, and other genders alike. However, the Datathon is open only to people who identify themselves as women of color.
