The University of Miami Frost Institute for Data Science and Computing (IDSC) hosts a variety of events including Software Carpentry Workshops each semester, special guest lectures, community outreach events, meetings, town halls, and training sessions. In addition, IDSC collaborates with other UM departments, schools, and colleges to host four major annual events: the Big Data Conference, Data Intersections, the Smart Cities MIAMI Conference, and VizUM .
