Innovative Architect Daba Dabic Joins IDSC as a Visiting…

Ljubisa Daba Dabic, AAIA, an innovative architect with experience in healthcare and smart city programs has joined IDSC as a visiting fellow. A partner in AMB Architectural Design Studio LLC in Rockville, Maryland, Dabic is a LEED accredited professional (AP) who has designed a chain of healthcare facilities across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Germany. He has also led the design and renovation projects of the Embassy of Macedonia, and the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in United States.

“Our visiting fellow program is designed for academic and industry professionals who want to contribute to their fields through collaborations with our data scientists,” said Nick Tsinoremas, PhD, IDSC founding director, vice provost for Research Computing and Data, and professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Computer Science, and Health Informatics.

Dabic’s research at IDSC will focus on combining architectural innovation with digital health solutions in the context of smart cities. “Using smart buildings as a core, he is developing a conceptual model that will maximize coordination of smart city functions in the area of energy and home health services,” said Yelena Yesha, PhD, distinguished professor and innovation officer, IDSC. In collaboration with other IDSC colleagues, Dabic will contribute his architectural engineering expertise toward achieving the vision of University of Miami’s leadership in the smart city program, Yesha added. He will also build IDSC’s international collaborators through partnerships with international academic institutions and private industry.
