Oak Ridge Leadership Computing Facility Users Meeting

On July 22-24, 2014, Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) will host a leadership computing users meeting and a tutorial on how to become an OLCF user.  The meeting will feature paired talks from OLCF users and code developers who will provide updates on their scientific accomplishments and code achievement, including highlights on their computational requirements for the future.  OLCF staff members will discuss ongoing and future initiatives and engage the attendees in how to best provide for and enhance scientific discovery through leadership computing.

On the day prior to the Users Meeting, July 21, there will be a short training session for new OLCF users and/or others who are interested in becoming a user. This afternoon workshop will introduce the User Assistance team and answer your questions on how to get started using the facility.  Information on the agenda and registration can be found at https://www.olcf.ornl.gov/training-event/2014-olcf-users-meeting/.

The OLCF provides computational researchers an opportunity to tackle problems that would be unthinkable on other systems. The facility welcomes investigators from universities, government agencies, and industry who are prepared to perform breakthrough research in climate, materials, alternative energy sources and energy storage, chemistry, nuclear physics, astrophysics, quantum mechanics, and a range of scientific inquiry. Because it is a unique resource, the OLCF focuses on the most ambitious research projects—projects that provide important new knowledge or enable important new technologies.

Information on the agenda and registration can be found at https://www.olcf.ornl.gov/training-event/2014-olcf-users-meeting/.  Questions should be addressed to Fernanda Foertter, foertterfs@ornl.gov, 865-576-9391.
