Alberto Cairo Named Knight Chair in Visual Journalism
The University of Miami School of Communication’s Center for Communication, Culture and Change has named Alberto Cairo as “Knight Chair in Visual Journalism”. Prof. Cairo will bring his internationally recognized expertise in multimedia data visualization to Center-related projects, including interdisciplinary cancer communication initiatives.
Among potential projects on the horizon for the new Knight Chair is a website that would provide cancer patients with the information that they need about clinical trial participation, and whether or not it is useful. This site would use infographics and interactivity to effectively communicate pertinent information.
