IDSC visits Heuristic Technology Park, Mexico

As part of a partnership to foster hemispheric aspirations and make the University of Miami a “Pan American University”, CCS visited Merida, Mexico, May 23-26, 2016.  This partnership is part of UM’s deliberate strategy to take advantage of Miami’s geographical location at the crossroads of the Americas and at the heart of the Americas.

To help further the creation of a “CCS for the Americas”, CCS Center Director Nick Tsinoremas, Sr. Manager Business Operations Evelyn Cruz, Climate & Environmental Hazards Program Director Ben Kirtman, Software Engineering Director Chris Mader, and Advanced Computing Director Joel Zysman, toured Heurisitic (El Centro de Innovación y Desarrollo en Tecnologías de la Información Heuristic) inside the Parque Científico Tecnólogico de Yucatán.

Hosted by the Yucatán Governement, CCS was shown all the exciting developments taking place at the Park, and looks forward to helping develop a computational science center that will further research in the Yucatán, Central America, and beyond.
