Creative Technologies
“Mangrove City,” an interdisciplinary project with between the School of Communication, School of Architecture, School of Music, College of Arts and Sciences, and the Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric, and Earth Science, has made it to the final round of the Augmented World Expo (AWE) XR Challenge: Fight Climate Change. The University of Miami College of Engineering is showcasing its innovation in research on Friday, February 25, 2022. Speaker sessions will focus on initiatives in “Engineering Cures for Cancer” along with sessions focused on advanced materials. The poster sessions will focus on engineering solutions to improve our livelihood and directly impact fields like health, technology, climate change, and cybersecurity through engineering. All in-person events are planned for the Gables campus. (Location TBA)

As part of an HABS (Historical American Buildings Survey) effort to document the built environment, a University of Miami School of Architecture ARC 518 class took a small caravan of aircraft to North Eleuthera in the Bahamas to visit an historic site in disrepair, “The Residency” the former Governor’s mansion in Harbour Town.
