This November, IDSC collaborates with the Miami Herbert School of Business to co-host an AI Hackathon Weekend. This two-day, campus-wide event brings together 50 students from across every discipline, from Computer Science to Public Health to Business, to build AI-powered solutions to real community problems.
Sponsored by Donyati and Mentrum.ai, the event spans eight tracks: climate, health, education, civic life, finance, hospitality, the public sector, and an open wildcard category. Student teams will work alongside faculty, industry judges, and mentors to turn ideas into working prototypes in just 48 hours.
The event reflects the University of Miami’s growing commitment to hands-on AI education and its role as a hub connecting South Florida’s students to the region’s fastest-growing industries. The hackathon takes place on Saturday and Sunday, November 7–8, 2026, and is open to undergraduate and graduate students university-wide. Registration will be open in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for more information!
