The University of Miami Frost Institute for Data Science and Computing (IDSC) and Miami Business School are co-hosting a two-day, in-person an AI Hackathon on Saturday and Sunday, November 7-8, 2026, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm each day. It’s daytime only, so there’s no overnight stay.
Fifty UM students from every major will be selected by application and placed in teams of 4–5. Each team picks one of four tracks:
- AI for Health + Wellbeing
- AI for Finance + Fintech
- AI for Hospitality + Entertainment, or
- Open/Wildcard: AI for Social Good
With a dedicated mentor, teams go from idea to a working prototype, and pitch it on Sunday afternoon to judges from industry, UM faculty, and the AI community.
$15,000 in cash prizes will be awarded, including per-track awards and an overall Best in Show. Every participant also gets Microsoft student credits, Claude access throughout the event, and meals on both days.
