AI in Biomedical Imaging-Doctor examines CT Scans

Artificial Intelligence in Biomedical Imaging

Research has found that AI tools perform better than doctors in some radiology imaging tasks. We believe that AI tools will expedite time-consuming diagnosis processes and improve accuracy in diagnosis for benefits of the patients.

We are collaborating with clinical radiologists and imaging technologists to develop AI methods and tools for various tasks. AI’s use in medical imaging includes data acquisition, data preprocessing, deep learning-based analysis and diagnosis algorithms, algorithmic tool validation, and clinical implementation for evaluation and receiving feedbacks. We are working with experts on various innovative AI tools for triage, diagnosis, and to improve clinical tools, as well as optimize radiology operations. For example:

  • Computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) to help radiologists to classify early lung cancer
  • Better classification of Covid-19 using CT scans and X-rays
  • Improving CT scan image quality
