IDSC Resources Overview Session

The University of Miami Institute for Data Science and Computing is at the heart of data research, big and otherwise, on all three campuses and beyond. The University hosts one of the largest, centralized, academic cyber infrastructures in the country, providing the research community with the computational power it needs for top-notch research.

There is much to learn for researchers in every discipline.  For example, IDSC’s Software Engineering team, in collaboration with colleagues across UM, are developing tools that enable research in the medical, architectural, marine science, and engineering domains. Seven research programs span the physical and natural sciences, and include music engineering, data visualization, and new urbanism architecture.

IDSC also has a vibrant education component, offering training workshops and courses, and empowering students, faculty and staff. IDSC outreach programs are working with the broader community to increase computational literacy across the board.

So don’t miss the chance to learn more about IDSC’s mission and vision, and its existing research collaborations as it seeks to open dialogue with more researchers in the UM community and beyond.
