Data privacy, security, and communication are among the ethical issues incorporated into the multidisciplinary University of Miami project “Using Wastewater Measurements to Predict Covid-19 in the Community.” By sampling wastewater flowing from campus buildings, UM researchers can isolate areas where SARS-CoV-2—the virus that causes COVID-19—is present several days before individuals test positive for the disease. Grants
Through our Grants Program IDSC is committed to promoting data science to enhance understanding within the University’s research community. Early Career Researcher grants allow the uninitiated an opportunity to explore the possibilities of data science and computing using IDSC resources to advance their research and educational goals. These grants include 90K Service Units and access to IDSC computational resources for one year but are renewable for an additional year with a second application.
