Novel Platform Connects Users and Developers of Scientific Vocabularies

OntoloBridge, a new platform designed to bridge the gap between regular users of controlled scientific vocabularies and the creators of underlying ontologies, has been developed under a collaborative U01 grant by the University of Miami, Stanford University, and Collaborative Drug Discovery (CDD). Public-Private Partnership to Facilitate Ontology Use and Application

Ontology sounds a lot like a medical specialty—but it’s not related to Oncology, Otolaryngology, or Ophthalmology—except that researchers organizing Big Data in Biomedicine into different ‘ontologies’ or categories could help expedite new drug targets and discoveries in these specialties, and others, in the future.

CDD and IDSC receive NIH SBIR Award

Collaborative Drug Discovery (CDD) and researchers at the Center for Computational Science of the University of Miami received a National Institutes of Health (NIH) (Small Business Innovation Research) SBIR Award to develop novel assay annotation technology for the CDD Vault leveraging our BioAssay Ontology (BAO).
