The U Experience is a immersive augmented reality application that offers the exploration of the University of Miami Coral Gables campus through a lightweight Magic Leap wearable device. The U Experience is available to faculty and students through the fall semester (until December 11) in the Magic Leap Lab located in the Richter Library, room 326. The first project to come out of the UM-Magic Leap Project Alexandria collaboration is “The U Experience” a mixed reality tour of the Coral Gables campus. The team working on this Magic Leap experience celebrated on Friday, August 16th at the Newman Alumni Center. The project was completed in time for the President’s Celebration for New Students taking place on Saturday, and being offered to 2,800 incoming freshman.

The Center for Computational Science offered two presentations at the cutting-edge technology and innovation event eMerge Americas held on April 17-19, 2016, at the Miami Beach Convention Center. One on Visualization, and one on Digital Mapping using drones and custom software created by our Software Engineering Team.
