A group of students from Southwest Miami Senior High School came to the University of Miami for a visit to examine the role of supercomputer simulations in science. This group was part of the AP (Advanced Placement) Physics class and the Robotics Team coordinated by Mr. Mario Morales, a Physics and Mathematics Teacher at Southwest Senior High School. The visit was a collaboration between the Computational Nanomaterials Laboratory (“CompuNanoLab”), the Department of Computer Science, CIMAS, and IDSC. Daniel Messinger, Jacquelyn Moffitt, et al. published a chapter (21) in Oxford Academic’s The Oxford Handbook of Emotional Development titled “Early Interaction: New Approaches.” The chapter focuses on new developments in behavior imaging, objective quantification of human action, and computational approaches to the study of early emotional interaction and development.
